Third grade students will have weekly spelling homework. The homework will be completed in their spelling notebooks. Children will be given a list of 20 words each Monday that will be put in their notebook. They may select activities to complete each week from the list on the inside front cover of their notebook. Students’ goal each week is to complete activities totaling 40 points. All activities must be handwritten with the exception of the online word search. Spelling notebooks with completed homework activities are due each Friday. Spelling tests will be given each Friday over all 20 words.
Math is sent home daily and is due the following school day. If your student needs additional help the math textbook is available online. It is the first link under Educational Websites.
Students are expected to read a minimum of 20-30 minutes four nights a week. Students are to record their reading on their home-reading sheet.
Starting in February we will have a new reading log. It will be sent home at the beginning of each month and a reading response activity will be due the last Friday of the month. Download Reading Log.
Students are also encouraged to practice their multiplication facts each night.
