About the Teacher

My name is Diane Lurie and I am your child's teacher this year. This is my 22nd year of teaching in Cobb County. I have taught second, third, and forth grade, but third is my favorite grade to teach. I am so excited about being at Addison Elementary this year. I am married and have a son that attends Pope High School. In my free time I enjoy reading and playing tennis.

Homework Reminders

Spelling- Spelling packets will be sent home on Mondays. They should be completed at home and returned on Friday.  Students will write the words they miss the week before to practice along with the five core words for the week.

Reading Logs- Students should be reading 20- 30 minutes every night. Please help you child choose looks appropriate for his or her reading level. Third graders need to be able to understand what is read. Children struggling with fluency should be reading aloud each night. You can help build vocabulary and comprehension by asking questions about what your child has read each night.  Reading logs need to be at school on Mondays to be checked. Please record the reading time and sign before your child returns it.
